“Now we move to a short individual quiz: Keep the Lights On.”
You are going to play the role of an advisor for a new AI data center project. Your mission is to make the best power-related decisions: where to build, how to secure energy, how to manage grid connection, redundancy, 24/7 supply, contracts, water and crisis risks.
You’ll play individually. You have 20 minutes, and the timer does not affect your score. At the end, click submit once. Your score will appear and go to the leaderboard.
The purpose is to test the main takeaway from the presentation: data centers are becoming power-first infrastructures, and the winning strategy is not just about renewable energy, but about reliable, low-carbon and bankable power.
2 min introduction, 20 min jeu, 3–5 min leaderboard, 5–8 min debrief.
/30 — Tier, energy model, redundancy and firming.
/20 — site choice and connection route.
/20 — site resource, energy model and firming mix.
/30 — bankability, ESG, FID timing and crisis response.
Message clé : a data center is not only a building with servers. It is a critical power infrastructure.
The strongest strategies combine grid capacity, redundancy, 24/7 low-carbon supply, bankable contracts, water awareness and local acceptance.
So the real question is not simply “where can we buy green electricity?” The real question is: “how can we deliver reliable, low-carbon, fast-to-connect and bankable power for critical infrastructure?”
